Our library has some wonderful
features. Its environment is one that
encourages reading and learning in many
ways. Physically it is a very welcoming
comfortable place. There is plenty of
room with most of the shelving being
situated around the walls leaving a
large amount of space in the centre for
working tables. There is a quiet
reading space with low comfortable
chairs that encourage students to get
relaxed and read. That space includes a
collection of current magazines that
caters to the reader's interest. These
are updated on a regular basis.
The general collection is constantly being added to and therefore there are some quality new books ranging from non-fiction through to some more popular senior fiction. The new books are always put out on display either in the front window or in the library itself to ensure that the students and teachers are aware of the latest additions. Every effort is made here to ensure that the collection stays up to date with current publications making students and teachers job a lot easier when it comes to researching up to the minute information. Students and Teachers alike are able to request particular texts to be added to the general collection. There are 4 Internet computers available in the library for research. The library is also connected to a computer suite enabling classes to combine types of research between Internet and books. A Careers Room is a part of the library. This has information on all the Tertiary Education facilities and is able to be accessed by students any time that the Library is open. This gives students the ability to browse through the information at their leisure to gain information that they require or just to get them interested in some type of further education. It is a very valuable resource. In general, our library is modern, fresh in d�cor and is a place that seems to be a magnet for students. They enjoy spending time in the library and being part of an environment that encourages learning and reading.
