KOHA FOR TRIDENT

Dear Trident Whānau, Parents and Friends of the School and Community,

You can contribute to the ongoing development of the School in many ways!

Koha of Time and Service

Volunteering your time in the form of help with school activities is a great way to show your support.  Time and service can be utilised for things like:

  • Parent Support Group

  • Electives

  • Food preparation for school activities such as Open Days, Prizegiving's, Powhiri to welcome new staff

  • Baking for staff morning teas

  • Offers to help specific teachers as a guest speaker

  • Mentorship

  • Apprenticeships

  • Internships

  • Helping out with general classroom activities (cutting paper, preparing resources for teachers etc)

  • Creating groups to help run fundraising events for the school and specific group needs such as sports teams or international tours.

Contributing in the form of your time is much appreciated by the entire school.  Staff appreciate the involvement and support of the community and students enjoy when whanau demonstrate an interest in being a part of their school experience.  Trident welcomes and encourages our community to join with us to create a unified and collective effort to provide the best educational experience for our students, tomorrows leaders.

To discuss this form of Koha please email here and we can work out a way to utilise your offer!

Financial Koha

Donating financially to Trident will provide funds for the development and improvement of the school facilities and activities for current and future generations of students.

If you or your children have benefited, either directly or indirectly, from the educational opportunities that Trident High School has to offer, we would gratefully accept a koha to benefit our present and future students.

Koha can be for specific purposes, or generalised for the Board of Trustees to use as needed. An example of the specific koha we receive from an ex Trident pupil is for school vehicles.  This is given for the purpose of providing and maintaining school vans to enable our students to travel out of town for sports and other activities without a financial burden on a students family.  As a result of this generous funding, Trident has an impressive fleet of Trident Vans which you will no doubt have seen around Whakatane and the country!

General, non specific koha will be used as deemed appropriate by our Board of Trustees for the following:

  • Scholarships

  • Funding for extra teachers

  • Resourcing

  • Transport

You can support Trident High School by making a tax deductible donation to the school which will enable you to leave a lasting legacy for the benefit of the School for future generations.  Funds introduced are managed by the Board of Trustees and are greatly appreciated.
