The appointments committee have completed their selection process for a new Principal/Tumuaki, to replace Adrienne Scott-Jones.

​

Our task was to select the best person according to our Person Specification, which was compiled from consultation with staff, students and whānau. We thank you for your contribution and involvement in this vital part of the process.

​

The committee is pleased to announce that the new leader of our school will be Mikaere October, who comes to us from Waiheke High School, where he is currently the Principal/Tumuaki. He will commence his duties in Term One of 2024.

​

Mikaere is energetic, enthusiastic and positive, with the right balance of youth and experience. He has strengths in building and sustaining positive relationships with staff, students, whānau and the wider community. He leads with integrity, honesty, and self-awareness, and is an active and present leader, with experience in change leadership. He is also culturally responsive with a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We look forward to welcoming Mikaere and his whānau to the Trident family.

The Board also wishes to acknowledge Adrienne’s continued strong dedication and commitment to the role, and would like to thank her, and you, for your support as we enter this next exciting phase together.
