SPECIAL EDUCATION

Trident High School Special Education Centre provides educational opportunities for students aged twelve to twenty one years with different abilities who receive Ongoing Resourcing Funding (ORS).  Our aim is to provide an environment where students feel happy, safe and secure, where they can take risks with their learning to reach their full potential as lifelong learners and active community members.

Opportunities for appropriate inclusion and community integration are based on individual students’ strengths and abilities.  Some activities that students currently benefit from are:

Horse riding, sensory garden, swimming, gymnastics, work experience with local businesses and within school, Zero Waste, Special Olympics events, library visits and community excursions.

Developing partnerships with our students’ parents, caregivers and whanau is key to providing the best possible learning opportunities to ensure students reach their true potential.  We collectively enjoy celebrating all our students’ successes and achievements.

All SEC enrolment enquires must be made by emailing office@trident.school.nz
