 FUTURES ACADEMY

The Bay of Plenty Futures Academy (originally Trades Academy) was founded in 2009 with Trident High School being appointed the lead provider to help establish one of the first of eleven Trades Academies in the nation by the Ministry of Education.

Since this time, BOPFA has involved over 34 secondary schools/ kura across the Bay through a comprehensive network of Futures Academy Hubs to support students to experience Tertiary Trades training as part of their high school experience.  These hubs include the regions and sub-regions of the Eastern Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Taupo, Tauranga and Tokoroa.
