Welcoming new Deputy Principal Jenny Mays to Trident High School

We are delighted to welcome our new Deputy Principal, Jenny Mays, to Trident High School! With over 20 years of teaching experience, including working in four different countries. Jenny brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our community.

Originally from the UK, Jenny has called New Zealand home for the past 13 years. She has previously worked for three years in Te Puke and spent seven years in Opotiki, where she served as the Deputy Principal for curriculum.

Jenny and her husband are proud business owners, and together they have three wonderful children. The Mays family also includes their adorable Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Rīwai , whose name means "potato"

Trident is thrilled to have Jenny join our whanau. She is eager to make connections with students and their whanau. Jenny has an open-door policy, encouraging students, staff and whanau to approach her with any concerns or ideas.

Jenny's favourite subjects in school were physical education and technology, which aligns perfectly with her background as a trained PE teacher. She believes that strong relationships between teachers and students are essential for improving educational outcomes, and she is committed to nurturing these relationships here at Trident High School.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Jenny Mays. We look forward to her contributions in helping Trident High School continue to thrive.
